CGA AV20- Part 1:2018

In Part One, we will review the nearly 200 year history of acetylene gas, from it’s humble beginnings as a gas for lighting homes, to it’s current use as both a fuel gas and a base for many chemicals.
Along with the intriguing story of it’s growth in the marketplace and the technical advances that made this growth possible, we will also cover some of the chemistry that underlies it’s usefulness.
Perhaps most importantly, we will also find out a bit of the how and the why behind the standards that exist today for handling acetylene safely and efficiently.
