It establishes their boundary dimensions, tolerances, internal clearances, and classification for selective assembly. The recommended practices for gauging, frictional torque determination, load rating determination, and operational life prediction an yield rate limitation are provided. All components covered by this standard are designed to U.S. Customary (inch) dimensions and are presented in Part 2 of the tables provided. The equivalent S.I. (metric) dimensions shown in Part 1 of the tables are provided for the convenience of those using that system.
