Chapters 1 to 6 give a general introduction of Rolling Stock Maintenance terminology, its processes, and the general reference maintenance architecture upon which processes are based. Chapter 7 introduces the Rolling Stock Maintenance tools (organizational and technological) Chapter 8 describes Cost evaluation methodology to enable comparison among the maintenance processes implemented by different companies and for different service applications, thus providing guidelines that may be used to improve rolling stock maintenance efficiency and cost savings. Chapter 9 defines the Rolling Stock Maintenance Management System (RSMMS) and its functionalities. Chapter 10 defines Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) of Rolling stock maintenance to be used in calls for tender or to assess supplier processes. Chapter 11 defines Technological Tools Rolling Stock Diagnostic System (RSDS). This IRS considers pre-competitive elements without taking into account commercial or market sensitive information of companies.
