VDI 2221 Blatt 1:2018-03

The standard deals with basic principles of the methodical design of all types of technical products and systems and defines the central objectives, activities and results of work in a 'model of product design' which, due to their general logic and usefulness, provide central guidelines for interdisciplinary application in the industrial practise. The basic principles and procedures of the standard can be applied to all types of technical products and systems as well as to the corresponding interdisciplinary design- and development processes. For special aspects and details of methodical product design and solution finding, additional VDI Standards may apply. The target groups of this standard are: process managers and project development managers, product designer, product managers and process stakeholders, and university lecturers and students.
